Overview
Pre-hospital providers are often the first people to meet a patient about to have their first exposure to opioids, and sometimes tragically, the last to meet a patient with an opioid use disorder. In this hour, we speak with Emergency Medicien physician and EMS medical director Mike Lohmeier, MD about the role that pre-hospital providers play in the opioid epidemic. We discuss opioid use in the field, opioid alternatives, and how to manage an opioid overdose.
This session, and all the SPOTS sessions, can be watched here on SaferOpioids.com, or you can get an hour of free Continuing Medical Education credit (including opioid CME in Wisconsin) by clicking here.
